How to take care of your wool clothes
Why is wool so good?
Wool is a great material for dog clothes. It's naturally odour-resistant, self-cleaning, breathing, and last but not least: it's warming when wet. If you take good care of your wool clothes they are going to last for many years to come.
How to take care of your wool clothes
Wool clothes are self-cleaning and should be washed as little as possible. Before putting them in the washing machine, try the following steps:
1. If they smell - air them outside over night. If they still smell - put them in the freezer over night.
2. If they're muddy - let the clothes dry completely, then brush off mudd and sand.
If you followed the above steps and you still need to wash your wool clothes, follow these important steps:
Wash at 30 degrees Celsius on the wool program.
Use wool detergent
Let the clothes dry flat. Do not tumble dry.
Pilling
Pilling is normal on wool clothes. If you want you can remove the pilling with a wool comb or an electrical wool shaver, and your clothes will look as good as new!
Store away your wool clothes
When the season is over and you want to store your wool clothes, always wash them first according to the washing instructions above. Then store them in an air tight vacuum bag,. This will prevent moths from attacking your wool clothes.
